FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I get started?

Step 1.

Start by scheduling your free, no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation by booking online or call, text, or email me for available times.

Step 2.

During this call, I’ll ask you some questions and allow you to ask me anything so we can see if we’re a good fit.

Step 3.

You’re ready to begin!

If you want to use your insurance, we will need to do a verification of benefits taking approximately 2 – 3 days.

I will email you a link to your client portal where you complete the intake paperwork at your leisure prior to your first session including payment information for self-pay or copays.

Step 4.

For in person clients, we will meet at my office space at your appointment time and begin.

For virtual clients, you will receive a secure link via email to your virtual “waiting room” prior to each session and simply click the link and wait until I begin the session. It will look similar to Zoom, but is a secure connection to ensure your privacy.

How do you measure results?

After your initial assessment, we will discuss your goals and create an individualized treatment plan.

At that time, you will have the opportunity to discuss expectations and desired outcomes and how you will know when that outcome has been reached. We continue to assess progress as we go along and decide if things are working or if they’re not what needs to be changed or recalibrated to get the process on the right track.

What differentiates you from other therapists?

I use a trauma informed approach that utilizes the latest research and understanding of our mental health.

This approach allows you to go beyond just managing symptoms and instead heal from root causes giving opportunity for positive outcomes in all areas of your life.

How long do I need therapy?

Every client is different, but the pattern is often 16 – 20 week cycles per treatment goal.

Some clients are good after that. Many clients want to keep the work going with a new treatment plan. It is common for clients to practice on their own and come back to build on their progress with new goals. Some clients move to biweekly after the first treatment cycle.

It is up to you with what works best.

What are your fees?

Standard 60-min individual in person or virtual session is $150.

You are charged for each session at the end of the session.

No-show policy: If you do not cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24-hours notice, there may be a $75 no-show service charged to your account. This no-show charge is not reimbursable by your insurance company and you will be billed directly for it.

I require a credit card on file for self-pay, copay, or no-show fees.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently in network with:

  • Aetna
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Cigna

We will work together to verify your benefits. I require a credit card on file for your copay fee. You will be charged for each session at the end of the session.
